Position Summary:

The Banquet Chef is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all dining operations related to wedding, corporate, and private events at The Woolverton Inn. This role demands a culinary professional with exceptional leadership skills, creative menu development abilities, and extensive experience in event catering. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of quality, presentation, and service are maintained, and will work closely with the Executive Chef and Event Coordinators and management to deliver unforgettable culinary experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all culinary operations for event catering, including weddings, corporate functions, and private parties.

Oversee menu creation, planning, and presentation to suit client preferences and event themes.

Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards are strictly followed.

Supervise and train culinary staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.

Collaborate with event coordinators on food preparation, logistics and event schedules.

Maintain inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to achieve budget targets.

Monitor food quality and consistency, making adjustments as needed to ensure excellence.

Stay current with culinary trends and innovative presentation techniques to keep menus fresh, diverse and exciting.

Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to, including OSHA and NJ state requirements.

Manage and oversee the setup and breakdown of catering operations on event days.

Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with clients and ensuring their culinary expectations are met or exceeded.

Qualifications:

Proven, recent experience as a Banquet Chef in a high-volume catering environment.

Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food trends, and event catering best practices.

Exceptional leadership, planning, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.

Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations.

Creative mindset with a passion for delivering extraordinary culinary experiences.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
