Explore the New Jersey Pine Barrens with a guided tour of historic Whitesbog Village. There our docent will share interesting historical information about the farm workers and the life they led. We will tour buildings that were used during the blueberry and cranberry industries hey-day and much more. Included is a mile walk on a flat sandy road out to the blueberry fields and cranberry bogs. Next up is a visit to Brendan T. Byrne State Forest for a short nature walk around Pakim Pond to experience the history and local flora and fauna. Portable restrooms will be the only bathroom facilities available. Please bring a packed lunch, snacks and drinks for the day in a small cooler as there will be no opportunities to purchase food.
