Gene Maddalena and I opened Maddalena's CheeseCake Co. in 1982. Gene was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and I graduated from Rowan University (formerly Glassboro State College) with a BA in Art. Together, we built both a catering business and a family. Gene, the patriarch of our family-owned business, created the original cheesecake recipe that we still use today. We make each cheesecake with 100% real dairy and pure Bourbon vanilla extract from Madagascar.


In 1984 and 1986, our sons Gene Jr. and Jeff were born. The boys grew up immersed in the family business, learning from their dad and helping bake thousands of cheesecakes. They worked countless parties and picnics while their friends enjoyed their summers.


Diagnosed with cancer in 2001, Gene Sr. continued to work for eight years. When he was unable to work during the last few months of his life, his sons stepped in to help. Gene passed away in 2009, and our family decided to continue the business.


For 15 years, I have been running Maddalena's as a 100% women-owned business. My sons have moved on and now operate their own sand-blasting business. With the help of my life partner, Matthew Miller, who serves as Head Chef and Director of Operations, the business continues to thrive.


Since 1982, Maddalena's has been baking award-winning desserts at our Home of Deliciousness in Ringoes, New Jersey. The storefront market offers a large variety of prepared sweet and savory options. Our desserts include cheesecake in many flavors as well as gluten-free and low-carb, no-sugar-added options, CheeseCake cupcakes, decorated fruit-topped cheesecakes, apple crumb pie, cookies, breads, and more. Our savory prepared frozen oven-ready meals include pot pies, soups, chowders, chili, quiche, and more.  Maddalena's is open to the public, and store hours are posted on our website.


The business has evolved, Maddalena’s CheeseCake has an amazing Fundraising Program, offering our most popular desserts. Cheesecake fundraisers now represent a large percentage of our business offering high-quality desserts that everyone will enjoy.  School associations, sports teams, non-profits, scouts, clubs, and dance studios are some examples of organizations that do extremely well with Maddalena's seasonal cheesecake fundraisers. Fundraising with Maddalena's is a "Piece of Cake".


Maddalena's desserts also make great corporate gifts.  During Covid-19. We shifted our focus from catering to Mobile Desserts, serving "Cheesecake on a Stick" and other treats like "Chookies", apple pie à la mode, and cheesecake-filled cannoli. These are perfect for events such as weddings, corporate gatherings, food truck festivals, fundraisers, and private events all over New Jersey.

Maddalena's Cheesecake & Catering is a small family-owned business known for its high-quality cheesecakes. These gourmet desserts are made with 100% real dairy and pure bourbon vanilla from Madagascar. Maddalena's storefront market offers over twelve different cheesecake flavors which stem from its original recipe that was created over 40 years ago. Also available, are gluten-free and keto (no sugar added) cheesecake options. Most of its most popular cheesecake flavors are available frozen on a daily basis. Just so you know, each week, a selection of fresh cheesecakes is available while supplies last.
