The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board (GRWDB) is a public-private partnership serving Hunterdon and Somerset Counties. The GRWDB is one of 17 local workforce boards in New Jersey. It's three-member staff manage a $4-million annual budget which provides a variety of services to businesses and job seekers in the two counties. The staff members report to a board comprised of business, non-profit, education and other leaders in the community. Appointed by the respective Boards of County Commissioners in each county, the board members of the GRWDB meet quarterly to review economic, demographic, and employment dynamics in the region, review programs offered by local system partners, and set workforce policy consistent with current conditions with a focus on the human resource talent needs of employers as well as the career goals of job seekers in the two counties. The GRWDB board and staff provides oversight to the Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center, which has offices in Flemington and Somerville and is responsible for providing job seekers with resources that will lead to employment.
